Hi Everyone;

I suppose it is safe to let the cat out of the bag now that we are so close to the IPMS UK nationals and only about 10 days from going to print.

Attached Image

I will have a build of the Airfix Mossie in the December issue of SAM, which will be published in advance of its normal date in order to have copies at the show. We have been working on the issue for a couple of months now and it will be pretty special. I've been working on the kit for several weeks now and I can let you know that the images of the parts on the Airfix stand at the Yeovilton show were of my kit.

8 extra pages of content to accomodate the Mosquito along with a feature on the 32nd Trumpeter Swordfish, 72nd Hasegawa Liberator, 48th Saab Draken and a bevvy of Compact Builds to keep the pages turning.

I can't post any images of the build so far as Airfix have requested the build be kept under wraps, but suffice to say that in my opinion this may be the best kit ever made.

The issue will hit the newstands at the normal publication date, however we are printing a couple of days before the show and will have it available for sale on the SAM stand along side the modelling demonstrations by both SAM and MMI contributors.

Jen Wright and Philippe Roger will be making appearances on the demo table alongside myself, and there will be some military demos by MMI editor David Grummit and assistant editor Moustafa.

All the best,

Jay

This is the first time I've seen the box art, and to me it looks absolutely STUNNING - I can only imagine how dramatic that would look full size.

Most pleased to see it carries 487 (NZ) markings for the Amiens raid.

Will definitely be looking forward to that issue.

Cheers

Mike

Sounds like a good issue Jay. By the look of it the box art depicts Operation JERICHO, the raid on the prison at Amiens.

"The best kit ever" - now that's a statement for which I'd like to know the basis! Better buy the mag, I guess! wink.gif

And I can't wait to see the decal manufacturers start up their printers (C'mon, chant along with me: "SEAC Mossie, SEAC Mossie..." laugh.gif ).

Looking forward to both the issue and the kit,

Patrick Sprau
